The Garden Committee is planning a “High Tea” Garden Fundraiser on Sunday afternoon May 27, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. We would like to encourage everyone to dress in clothing associated with English High Teas, i.e. dresses, hats and gloves for the ladies, jacket and tie for the men. Weather permitting, the event will take place on the green, otherwise in the Crypt.
The number of tickets for this event will be limited to 30, at a cost of $25 each – so be ready to purchase yours when they come on sale after May 1st from the Church Office or Nancy Wahlroth.
Net proceeds will be used to cover the costs of new vegetable garden beds.
After coffee, we will present a 45 minute video featuring the Rev. Bill Tully, preceded by a light lunch and followed by a discussion on 'could we learn something from his mantra of "radical welcome"?
The Rev. Bill Tully was the Rector of St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church in New York City from 1994-2012. In that period he successfully revived the church which had fallen on hard times. His mantra of "Radical Welcome"
is an explanation of how to overcome built-in obstacles to growth and how to provide a spiritual home to more than the "usual suspects".
